Design Your Kitchen in a Weekend
A practical step-by-step kitchen planning course to help you go from “I have no idea where to start” to a clear, confident kitchen plan - even if you’ve never designed a kitchen before.
What you'll learn
Whether you’re planning a kitchen renovation or a new build, you’ll work through the decisions in a clear order - from understanding your needs and exploring layouts to storage, finishes and your final kitchen brief.
Understand what your kitchen really needs
Start with how you live, what isn’t working now and what matters most to you.

Understand your space
Measure your kitchen, identify its opportunities and limitations, and create a simple working floor plan.

Find a layout that works for you
Explore different layouts, test how they function and compare the trade-offs before committing.

Create a kitchen that feels like you
Bring together materials, finishes, function and the little details that make everyday life better.

Why this course is different
Built around your life - not someone else’s kitchen
You won’t be given a list of things every “good kitchen” should have. You’ll learn how to work out what your kitchen needs based on the way you actually live.
Practical guidance from 10+ years in joinery
I bring more than a decade of hands-on experience in cabinetry, joinery and furniture, so the course connects design ideas with the practical reality of how kitchens are actually built and used.
A clear process instead of endless inspiration
Google and Pinterest can give you thousands of ideas. Instead of giving you more inspiration to save, this course gives you a practical kitchen planning process to work through one decision at a time.
What's included
Everything you need to create your kitchen plan. Practical tools, clear guidance and easy-to-follow lessons.

Hi, I'm Elisa
I’ve spent more than 10 years working hands-on in cabinetry, joinery and furniture in Finland and Australia. Over the years, I’ve learned that a good kitchen isn’t about following a list of rules or fitting in every possible feature. It’s about understanding how someone actually lives, what they need from the space, and which decisions will make everyday life better.

Frequently Asked Questions
No, not at all. “In a weekend” is a framework, not a deadline. You can work through the course at your own pace, pause to research or discuss decisions, and come back whenever you need to.
Yes. Whether you’re renovating an existing kitchen or planning one for a new home, the process starts in the same place: understanding how you live, what you need and what matters most to you.
Not at all. You don’t need to know how to draw professionally, use design software or understand technical plans. The course is designed to guide you through the decisions step by step.
You’ll get self-paced video lessons that guide you through the kitchen planning process step by step, along with a downloadable workbook to help you work through the decisions as you go. The course also includes practical planning and drawing sheets, plus a final Kitchen Planning Brief to help you pull your priorities, layout direction, appliance information and design ideas together in one clear place.
No - and that's not the goal. This course helps you understand your own needs, priorities and ideas so you can have a much clearer and more productive conversation with the professionals who will design and build your kitchen.
You don’t have to. In fact, a kitchen company can be a valuable part of the process. The course helps you understand what matters to you, while still leaving room for their products, systems, experience and recommendations.
You can use whichever measurement system is standard for you. I work in millimetres, but the course can be followed using metric or imperial.
You’ll have a much clearer understanding of how your kitchen needs to work, your preferred layout direction, your functional and design priorities, and a Kitchen Planning Brief that brings the key information together.
